Peggy Purl in our Community

In 2016 we formed a collaboration with MidCentral District Health Board and SuperGrans Manawatu to launch the Peggy Purl in our Community project in our DHB region. This on-going project sources donated knitted and crocheted blankets from kind hearted creatives which are distributed to babies and children in need of their warmth and comfort in Maternity Services and the Neonatal Unit at Palmerston North Hospital, and in the DHB communities. 318 blankets were passed on for distribution in 2017.

Kind Hearts Trust co-ordinates the project. MidCentral District Health Board Maternity Services and Child Health Community Team distribute the blankets. SuperGrans Manawatu teach knitting and crocheting skills.
